Snow

If your driveway looks like this-

You're officially stuck inside.

(That's my car^)

Last night, CNN reported on Twitter that 49 out of 50 states have snow right now.

After big snow and ice events in the Southeast, Plains, and Midwest this week, 49 out of the 50 states currently have snow on the ground – yes, even Hawaii, where snow falls in Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea all winter.

The only state that has avoided this icy blast is Florida. Does that make you want to go on a nice, warm vacation to the Sunshine State? You're not alone.

Put another way, that means snow is present in 69.4 percent of the lower 48, which is more than double than December. This is extremely unusual, though it's hard to put a date on when this last happened because records aren't kept on this kind of event.

Almost every airport in the New England area has canceled most of their flights, and schools from Vermont to New Jersey canceled school 24 hours in advance.

Washington DC: 2-4 inches
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: 4-6 inches
New York, N.Y.: 6-12 inches
Hartford, Connecticut: 15-20 inches
Boston, Massachusetts: 12-16 inches

Here's a view of what the snow's doing (Says CNN).

So if you are snowed in, which you should be, unless you live in Florida (in which case, the rest of the States absolutely resents you), find something to do today.

Go sledding, watch a movie (see my next post- DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS), roast marshmallows over the stove or a fire (with parental supervision), read Twitter, do some online shopping, re-arrange your room. I got creative and gave my friend a haircut.

Enjoy the snow while its fresh. In due time its going to get dirty and brown and make the roads look like sewage exploded all over them.

Stay tuned for more blogging about how Ciara Brinkmann and I preform as parents as we watch her 3 darling sibling babies for a week.
