Instead of Weeping About How You're Snowed In-

You can just be happy that you're not in Brisbane, Australia, where Mother Nature is absolutely killing it. In a bad way.

CNN Reports that Brisbane natives are preparing for "what the Queensland premier described as 'the worst natural disaster in our history.' "

(Here are some Residents of West End remove stock from a business on January 12 in Brisbane... I'd like to get that guy's number on the end....)

"This time, models predict that 19,700 homes will be "completely flooded" in Brisbane, which is home to more than 1 million people,"
said the article, "And another 4,000 homes are likely to be affected in Ipswich, said Queensland Premier Anna Bligh."

Everyone should read about this. It's kind of an important global issue right now. You'll be hearing about it.

Thank god though, shelters are doing what they can to evacuate the thousands of animals that would be (and typically are, in the chaos of natural disasters) forgotten about.

Look at these poor babies.

More than 500 animals -- including sheep, ducks, goats, a peacock, horses, dogs and cats -- were evacuated Wednesday from Queensland's largest animal shelter due to rising floodwaters from the Brisbane River, an official said.

A Queensland animal protection group put out an emergency SOS to the community to take the animals into emergency foster care after the five-acre center in Brisbane was inundated -- with some buildings completely underwater -- and equipment destroyed.
