A WOMAN of 103 has revealed the secret of her long life - she is a virgin.
Gladys Gough said she "could never be bothered" with intimate relationships.
She has also never smoked, tried alcohol or taken prescription drugs.
Gladys said: "I never got married or had a boyfriend. That probably had something to do with it. I just couldn't be bothered with men.
"I always eat my dinner. I've always made sure that I've eaten well. Men have never been a part of my life."
Gladys, of Coventry, said she dedicated her life to seeing the world, with her sister Edna, who died in 1996 aged 85.
She added: "We were always being approached by men but preferred to travel and talk to each other instead."
"I never got married or had a boyfriend. That probably had something to do with it. I just couldn't be bothered with men." Well, that'll do it, typically.
Abstaining from drugs and alcohol may be what did it, too.
Either way, Gladys has certainly made a statement, as her story has appeared on numerous other blogs and websites.
Good for her. Talk about will power.
One thing I can say about all this? We should all look to Gladys for inspiration for this year's lent. If Gladys can go 103 years without all the pleasures of life, perhaps we can all take a break for a bit.
